Two states, FCT report 98 new COVID-19 cases, no death

Two states have recorded 98 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, according to the figures released on Sunday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

This NCDC disclosed this on its official website on Sunday.

The agency also reported no new C0VID-19 related deaths.

 According to the NCDC, the 98 new cases were recorded from Lagos, Ekiti and the Federal Capital Territory.

Lagos recorded the highest figures for new infections with 94 new cases, Ekiti – 3 and the FCT – 1

The health agency said that the 186 new COVID-19 infections have brought the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 168,540.

So far, 164,431 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged in the country, the agency said.

With no new death recorded, the death toll from the virus remains 2,122, NCDC said.

It said that a multi-sectoral national Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
